I was always reading a novel to my students, regardless of their learning level. The lesson of learning to sit while someone is talking is an invaluable skill that is worthwhile teaching.

This unit has various activities for Gemeinhart’s book, Coyote Lost and Found. The materials were designed to allow students with multiple levels of learning to access and engage in lessons learned through listening to this novel.

 

There are many opportunities for students to engage in repeated information on the truly remarkable journey of a girl and her father across the country to find a lost book and scatter Coyote’s mom’s ashes.

 

Finally, many of the activities include more than one version, suggestions for differentiation, and options for presentation. There are one or more activities to go with every chapter (29 different activities!!) to keep your students engaged while you read this novel aloud.

 

*****There are comprehension questions for this novel unit. There are 5 questions for every 1-2 chapters. Each question has 3 picture answer choices. An answer key is included.

 

This novel study comes in separate color and one and black and white files for easier printing.
