I was always reading a novel to my students, regardless of their learning level. Learning to sit while someone is talking is an invaluable skill worth teaching.

This novel study includes various activities that accompany Paulsen’s book, Woods Runner.

The materials were designed to allow students at multiple learning levels to access and engage with lessons from this novel through listening.

Students have numerous opportunities to engage with repeated information as they listen to the story of a fearless, resourceful boy who tries to rescue his parents. Set during the Revolutionary War, your students will connect to the tragedy and challenges during this time in U.S. history.

Finally, many of the activities include more than one version, suggestions for differentiation, and options for presentation. There is one or more activities (25 different activities!!) to go with each chapter, as your students stay engaged while you read this novel aloud.

There are 2 complete files to go with this unit. One is in color and one is in BW.

There are 5 multiple-choice questions for every chapter. Each question has 3 picture answer choices. An answer key is included.
