What is a Pronoun unit for special education looks at identifying and using singular and plural pronouns. There are group activities, including flashcards, and nouns vs pronouns worksheets.

What is a Pronoun Unit:

  • Pronouns replace nouns
  • Singular and plural pronouns
  • Male, female, and neutral pronouns
  • Finding and using pronouns in a sentence

There are numerous opportunities for students to engage with repeated information on how to identify and use pronouns.

NOTE: Types of pronouns, including subject, object, possessive, and demonstrative pronouns, are covered in a separate unit.

*****This unit includes digital versions of the activities.

Much of what I have learned about curriculum development is incorporated in these units. For example, do not be afraid of repetition. It is critical that students with significant disabilities get to experience material over several days to be able to assimilate what is being taught. Also, adding visual supports to your printables and class activities helps students pay more attention to the content you are presenting rather than the mechanics of what is expected. Finally, ask questions. Good questions!! Regardless of the material, we can ask students questions that will push them to think more deeply than before.
