The materials were designed to allow students at multiple levels of learning to access and engage with lessons learned from listening to this novel.

There are many opportunities for students to engage with repeated information on what happens to Brian as he tries to survive in the wilderness following a plane crash. This repetition encourages deeper engagement in the book.

Finally, many of the Hatchet activities include multiple versions, suggestions for differentiation, and presentation options. There are one or more activities (37 activities!!) to go with each chapter as your students stay engaged while you read this novel aloud.
